Udyr Guide
Udyr - Jungle Tank
Here are some things you might need to consider:
Starting with a Ruby Crystal is the dumbest thing i heard so far! How are you planing to recover if you get invaded? No health potions, no recovery possibilities without the armor you get from a Cloth Armor...
Udyr is a wonderful counter-jungler, especially when it comes to Pheonix Udyr. Add a counter-jungling section in there somewhere. And moreover, because you start with a Ruby Crystal, you haven't got enough survivability to counter-jungle in the first place. I urge you to start with a Cloth Armor and 5 Health Potions. You can then save the Cloth Armor for Randuin's Omen. And you should also finish the boots ASAP to sustain your power over the jungle (counter-jungling, forcing summoners via gangs...)
The build is fine but we all know a tank without at least a slight of damage is of no use (aka. Leona ^^) Try placing some damage items in there. A Witz End is one of the best items i can think about for an initiator Udyr. Consider that.

Sorry for the late reply but I was testing things;
I believe that Atma's impaler is a good complimentary item for UDYR's massive HP pool lategame (4+k easily) That and Madred's Bloodrazors will give him a lot of damage without sacrificing too much survivability (I managed to escape a 4v1 with this build without too much hassle, and the attack speed made my turtle stance heal for a lot more per second). These items replaced Frozen Mallet and Shurelya's Revyrie. I still got Philosopher's stone though, and simply sold it when later when it repaid me the initial cost(roughly 17 mins)

I'm still looking into viable starting items for UDYR. I was considering buying the Regrowth Pendant as it still helps HP pool and builds into a gold generating item, and it also allows for slightly less risky jungling I feel. I'll update the guide soon to match the changes, but your input helped a lot, thanks :).
