The reason people commonly see Yorick as an offtank is because of his passive. Also, in high elo, dps doesn't really do much for you without hp/armor/magic resist. These things are essential to stay in a fight long enough to actually do damage. Having bloodthirster won't really help you too much because without beefiness, you'll just keep dying and losing the stacks. How about Frozen Mallet to replace Youmuu's? Your build doesn't really use crit, and it's always nice to keep an enemy from getting away. It also helps with your beefiness. I just have one more question. How do you plan on using Yorick as a caster when you have no mana regen? As you said, he has relatively low mana, so it's not possible for him to be casting much in that case. Maybe you should figure out a way to remedy this? He should offtank. That's where he's most useful.
Using these masteries and runes you will not have too much mana problems, they grant you a great mana regeneration.
For bloodthirster I use it cause it gives you a lot of AD with full stack and in teamfight life steal is always good.
As regard the Youmuu's I took it in the build cause of his passive that is like a second Ghost.
And for last yorick's passive gives ghouls not just healt based on his healt, ghouls take also a part of your AD, and your attack grows with more ghouls casted. Having a lot of healt on ghouls is useless if they don't do damage, that's what i think.
But, you information is really good and taught me some valuable things for future reference.
