I've been trying to put it in by different ways then I surrender it :P
But the problem is that the transparency is an illusion look
Here's a sig that I did with photofiltre (basic program)

I suck with transparency so I cheated it will be seen if someone quote it =P
Actually I wanted to have some tip with transparency and how to do it :)

mmm you might have to make an additional piece. Just for the symbol. Then place it on the exterior of the image. If you render the Cog image and save it as a PNG you can then just cut and paste it into the flattened image you posted in the OP. Does that make sense?

Here's a quick edit of what I meant. Might not be the best.
((Noticed you saved this as a PNG but left in background color. Why not color select and erase it all?))

Like this now I should be able to quote it, let's see
Did it work?
EDIT: YUPP!!!!!
Here is the Cog render I found.

To edit your original I added an
1.alpha channel to the background then
2.fuzzy select tooled the exterior with one click. Then
3.I hit delete and it left the image with the checkerboard background telling me that it was transparent.
4. Saved it as a PNG (which is the only way I know how to create a transparent background)
Hope that helped.
