As everyone has suggested mage types, You may want to try melee, Check out Master Yi very easy to handle, And cheap. He still takes skill to be a godlike player (don't listen to others saying he's OP) He's easily countered which is why he isn't OP, But if your thinking melee, Go for Yi or maybe Tryndamere or Olaf. Depends on if you like jungling are destroying. Or both of course :P
But Mage type I would suggest Annie, If you are a fast learner then try Anivia. She's a very good mage one of my favorites to be exact :] But she takes getting used to.
