Morde pushes, little by little, regardless of how good he is. Stop saying it's not as bad as I think it is. I know how bad it is.
Who said it wasn't as bad as you think it is? If you think that was my intent I am sorry for the misunderstanding. That was not the perception I meant to give nor the was it the purpose. Allow me to clarify.
Most Morde's blindly use Siphon to hit every creep they can on every cast and are constantly parked near the opposing turret begging to get ganked. That is their fault if they do that.
But then again that goes back to not knowing proper technique on handling the top lane solo in general. Last hitting is an art form. I myself am still trying to master it (especially with Jarvan). I am no where near as good as I wish to be at it. Morde has a massive disadvantage in this area since his main damage source is a CAoE (Cone Area of Effect) which causes him to damage more creeps than most other heroes (other than Rumble). But one doesn't always have to hit every creep available. He is susceptible to ganks because of the natural pushing ability from all of his main skills and his complete lack of an escape mechanism. Of all the heroes good at solo laning he is probably THE MOST susceptible to ganks out of all of them. All one can do is try to minimize the opportunity the enemy team has to gank him. But much of that goes back to solo lane tactics. You will never be able to completely stop pushing as Morde unless you either never use a skill or manage to only ever last hit one creep at a time with a skill shot. Which is almost impossible. All one can do is hope to minimize it.

Like any other champion that gets run over by 5 other champions :P
And why not hourglass :) Armor+ALOT of AP, It is viable on high physical teams, it worked for me :P
Also poping hourglass and letting your ghost kill your enemy while he is waiting for the effect to end... priceless :P
Hourglass isn't good because it's AP doesn't increase mordes damage by much.
It's 40 damage to his E, where as a Haunting Guise or sorc shoes are more damage.
If you want damage on morde, you use items like Frozen Heart or Abyssal Scepter.
In regards to morde pushing, it's a playstyle thing.
It's just as easy to deny people last hits by being at their turret as it is to sit there and trade last hits.
I personally prefer to deny my opponents proper CS, and when i AM ganked, it's over shadowed by the 60-100 CS i'm up from my lane opponent.
I also stay in the back of my creep exp zone.
You should never be standing at their tower, unless you are going to kill it.
Playing as Morde, i find him no more susceptible to ganks than any other tank champion.
Tri lane for life.

Yeah, thats true,
