Explaining your item/mastery/rune choices helps with this a lot.
Look at jhoi's guide to creating a guide. It's what I always have open when I'm making a guide because there's no way in hell I would remember all the coding. :P

Getting to 5,000 words is a pretty serious undertaking. I went into what I thought was "neccessary" and only came out to about 2,000 words. You'll likely need to explain everything very explicitly, add lots of formatting, and even go into some detailed in-game play.
