I was travelling around forums (when you have nothing to do, you check all forums of games you play) and found this on HoN's:

Quoted:

I dont like the idea of MIA calls in general. If you dont want to get wards to secure yourself in lane then you dont really deserve to stay alive. Especially with the free ****ing courier. I cant see any reason why you couldnt get a defensive ward for your lane as a support. MIAs just promote poor play. People that cant watch the minimap or buy wards deserve to lose, and probably already lost their lane before the gank from elsewhere even happened.

This is how you show how much you dont like your team and want to do things yourself. I didnt get this:
"MIAs just promote poor play". That person has problems, but the troll made my day.

Mhh, I agree with him, to an extent. getting used to MIAs do promote sloppy play if they don't come, but in general, they help your team die less, thus not feeding the other team, leading to a better chance of beating them. It's all personal opinion, but just because he doesn't agree with the idea of MIAs, doesn't mean doesn't like his team. Like he said, WARDWARDWARD.

any form of communication should be welcome, not discouraged. Saying that "MIA" should not be used is just asking for defeat. Sometimes people get really focused on their lane and they get "tunnel vision" so to speak. Sure having map awareness is nice, but we've been trained to pay attention to chat, if we see MIA, we're more likely to react and pull back.
Second, glancing at your minimap is NOT enough to truly determine whether a lane is MIA. If the enemy bot lane is hiding in the bot lane bush, your team isn't going to call MIA, you have nothing to worry about since your bot laner's know where the enemy is. Map awareness can't really account for this. so when you do see that MIA call, it is a definitive command to pull back and play cautiously.

MIA is for noobs. Why shuld i watch the chat?

Blings on the other hand is the best. Just ping 2-3 times.

Or even better combo it. Say "SS" (fastest way.) And then just ping some times.

+ this is HoN. Deaths is alot more punishing. And wards reveal more.

The MIA isn't the important part. For example: "ashe mia, going top"

The important part is knowing where the enemy is going, not that they're missing from their lane, and that's why MIA's should be called, but they need to have more detail than just "mid mia". (However, sometimes this isn't possible if the enemy tp's back to base)
Also, if you've pushed to the enemy teams tower and someone with decent move speed comes to gank you, your ward won't warn you fast enough to get back to your tower, a MIA will.

Just call MIA's for gods sake. It's a positive thing across the board. MIA's can't hurt you, only help your team.

Sometimes I call them, sometimes not. Depends on the situation I am in and if I'm lazy or not.
I am not responsible for my teammates and if they die because my lane switched sides, it's their fault. Not mine.
Just like your Jungler doesn't HAVE to gank your lane and it's not his fault when you lose your lane.

He's right on something, people shouldn't rely on mia calls, you chould be watching the map and be aware of missing people, obviusly an teammate calling mia is a good thing, but during laning phase if you know how to lane properly mias shouldn't be a problem.
Also is pretty easy to miss a mia call because you weren't watching the chat. Seriusly btw how many mia calls do you usually see in top elo? Every men for himself dude!

Everytime you back, you should buy two wards. Even saying mia, the jungler will gank, so you need wards.

Team game=Team play

Team play revolves around:
-Good communication
-Synergy between players and champs
-Solid strategy
-Adaptability
-Effort

The guy from that post is probably an egotistical moron. Self-reliant and blind to any mistakes he might make, he shifts responsibility on to others because he can't handle it himself.

Buying wards is a good thing, making sure to also call MIAs is a good thing. All contributes to team play IMO. Being map aware is important as well.

I'm sure we are all guilty of ego/shifting blame every once in awhile. Myself included.
