Obviously, there are a few exceptions like [[Caitlyn]] should never be picked versus [[Sivir]] because she has free, almost infinite mana if you're stupid. He eventually gets out scaled but can still be really effective if you got your positioning right, and his poke is amazing during the laning phase. You'll also be so fast, sometimes you'll forget to upgrade your boots until a half hour into the game. Taric is a great choice if you're used to melee supports. [[Shatter]] will help your carry win trades, and his heal should keep both him and his carry healthy for the entire laning phase. You might also want to consider [[Soraka]]. She's cheap (450 IP), fairly easy to play, and still pretty strong in the role. She's also much more forgiving if you're not lightning-fast with your reactions than most other supports.[/quote]
