I carried 800 elo - 1200 elo only playing skarner with the rare forced mid.

You can play champions that people in low elo generally don't know how to deal with. Some include: Rengar, Irelia, Darius, Jax, Riven, etc. When you are ahead in cs, enemies tend to get more cautious because you got your items earlier than they did. That's just my experience, though.

AP mid is the best role to carry solo que from. Jungle would be second. Also Skarner is a good jungle to smurf/carry as :P
