I don't think OP is still reading this since it challenges his sense of what he has to do and what not. But that doesn't stop me from posting since someone might read and realise.
I am in what most people refer to as elo hell. Around 770 right now. At times I feel like this mire is a force of nature and can not be surpassed. Those are the times I end up losing even more. Then I go into smart mode and start doing what I do best. I am not a great carry and I have realised this. But what I do really good is setting up others to carry damn hard. In other words I should stick to tanky utility supports and utility junglers. Yes this does mean I don't carry by kills but it works for me. I have recently discovered the power of taric and have 6 wins out of 9 games with him. 2 of those losses came early season 2 so since my rediscovery I have 7 games and 6 wins. In the last 8 ranked games I have 7 wins.
This can't be pure luck. So I carry in my own way and set up good plays and scare the enemy team. Find out what works for you and do it!

You don't have to be 17/4 to carry. You can be 3/4/11 and still be the reason your team won.
Play smart.
And crow if your having problems in 700 it only gets worse until you break 1300. 700-1000 is bad players. 1000-1300 is even worse. Full of people that are actually new to level 30 and starting ranked.
