pretty much what everyone else has said. Alot of people said to not start ranked just as i hit 30 because so and so and that bronze would haunt me for the rest of my days and so on. You know what? i queue up anyways, went through the placements got placed bronze 1. Got demoted all the way to bronze 4 as i didn't have the overall experience to realistically climb. I was getting somewhat stressed because i really wanted silver. End of season 3 was coming along and i still really wanted it. But unlike alot of bronze players i stopped looking at what they were doing wrong and focused on what I could do to win the game. That's when win after win after win started to roll in up until where i am now in silver 2.

Current goal is gold 5 as that is the closest thing to me. i don't want to set the bar to high right this instant because then i would get discouraged of every single lost that i get and start yet again to blame it on my team instead of myself and won't climb as efficiently.

Overall try to relax. It's a game and it's made to enjoy. I'm sure i would not of climbed as steadily if i had avoided ranked as i find this is where i learn the best. Going up against and with people that want to win as much as you do quickly improves your skills. Listen to some music. Play a regular normals to get the *rustiness* out of you. Browze facebook or any other social media if that's what relaxes you. Join the Mobafire chat in-game so you can chat with some of us before you start a game. Anything that'll help you relax. then queue up. And duo queuing is also a good way to relax somewhat because you and your friend can laugh at the silly mistakes people make or even at your own mistakes as you strive to get better. Also duo queing puts you up against better players which in turn makes you learn faster.

My 2 cents :D just enjoy the game as it is meant to be played and you will notice you'll steadily climb out.

Also, fright for ranked?

When I queue for ranked games, I view it as a more challenging PvP.. well in actual fact it is, but just don't be frightened of the fact that it is a ranked game.

I'm still Silver I, yes, I'm bad.

I was scared when I first started, but anymore, I play all ranked except for when my internet is ****. Then I try to play normals. I think I have gone too far the other way, but I've gotten rid of my fear of ranked. My advice is just to go ahead and play. If you wait until you feel ready, you probably never will. Like others have said, remember ranked is still a game too.

I had this conversation with a friend before I started ranked. He was level 12 or some **** and he just said '*****'. To elaborate, he said that the fear of playing ranked is complete ******** because you will end up where you belong if you play enough games.

I used to recommend this and that but now I have just these rules:
1. play to have fun.
2. spam 2~3 champions to climb (master them), but don't be mad if you don't get your role. EVER.
3. have 2~3 champions for each role, you just need be decent so that you don't feed every time.
4. be polite and mute rude people.

I think part of it comes from being afraid of getting a rank lower than what you think you deserve. Look at my rank on lolking. I am Bronze 2, though I feel I should be at least silver 1 or 2. It was a letdown at first, but because I can more or less see where I messed up (look at my k/d ratio, esp on adc's), I know what I have to work on.

Don't be afraid to fail, be afraid to not try. Take it from someone who has played over 5000 normal games, you will not get better at the rate you will if you play ranked. Playing ranked is constantly challenging yourself, playing normals will not always challenge you. Normals is a good place to work on mechanics or learn a champion, but ranked will challenge you. I have played thousands of normal games, I wish I had played more ranked instead of normals because I would probably be much better at the game. I see friends that have reached diamond 1, who I had once considered myself better than. But they slowly began to become better than me because they challenged themselves
