I've never played against one mid like you described, but he's got insane damage top lane against squisies. The best way to counter him is good ganks and staying by minions for fights. CC doesn't hurt either. When you are by minions his Q loses just about half of its damage, and you can easily win after all his Cd's are blown... and he has no escape if he initiated with his jump. Other than that call for jungle ganks early on and try to shut him down before he can 2 shot everyone mid-late game.

Doing 'fine' isn't enough for an assassin.
You want to be able to crush your lane enough so that you can gain enough map presence to roam, and help out other lanes by killing their laners to snowball into an advantage.
Doing 'fine' means you're even in farm and neither side is really doing anything to the other, which makes you lose games as ALL assassins fall off late game.
Oh :O. Well what you said^ is what I meant by "fine". I guess I'll have to change my vocab. I'm more used to using vocab such as "fine" than vocab like "crushed". Personally I think "crushed" has a bit of arrogance to it so I prefer to use "fine", "pretty good", etc.
I actually get to roam a lot on
