sometimes it isn't just the KDA it is the mechanics and strategies it isn't fair to penalise a tank just because he sacrificed himself for his adc and there are things that affect the gmae that aren't just KDA there is farming, towers, dragon, baron and even things like as say
Lux you snare an enemy which saves your teammate and in late game that could easily save the game. there are too many variables if you want to go for personal performance, I used to think it was a great idea but now I just play every game with the mindset of I carry or I lose. It works for me and I am starting to climb now. But really the league system is probably the best Riot could come up with.

If I have helped in anyway at all a +rep will be appreciated lots

Thanks to LaCorpse, Hogopogo and JhoiJhoi for the amazing sigs
There is no inhibiting algorithm in place to slow a player's climb whatsoever.
Saint literally hit challenger in under 70 games on a brand new smurf with no games ever played, once.
For those of you who claim it is easier to go down than to go up, well, you should consider reasons other than Riot's system that it may be happening.

dont blame it on your role. Ive carried most of my games to diamond playing singed and in diamond i have the biggest success playing malp shen zac singed toplane...
all tanks. or even blitzcrank support.
The system is fine the way it is, even if i could use a little tweaking.
MMR is the variable that depends how many lp you get/lose and it doesnt care about promotion series. So there is a balancing factor that makes sure you dont drop whne your mmr is high.
im with duff on this one ;)

I tend to think the words 'team player' is slightly synonymous with the phrase 'weak individual player'. Yes, teamwork is important, but if we're talking about soloqueue, the decisive factor in whether you succeed or not is, well, your own ability. You need to be able to make the correct decisions EVEN IF your team disagrees.
For the sake of victory, sometimes you need to say, '**** the team'.
And before you say anything, I'm a support main too. Which is why I only Duo queue. Simple problem, simple solution. I've been on a steady tier rise since.

Why is there ranked SoloQ in LoL? - Because players want to have one.
Does it make sense to be there regarding the ranking system? - Not at all.
You want the system to judge as fair as possible? - Play ONLY 5vs5 premade and hope you don't end up fighting against 4+1 or 3+2 premade enemy teams.
You want to play ranked SoloQ without raging all the time? - Cheat the system, go Duo.
The system is ****ed in terms that it is nowhere near fair judging individuals put together as a team.
