I think trundle is still viable. I use him when i know i am playing against someone really tanky, since tenacity 75 + 40% bonus movespeed from Contaminate is really good at taking CC for your team. Also, Agony is probably one of the best tank-weakening skills in the game. You basically become unkillable for 7 or so seconds.

Trundle has his moments, but people just don't choose him very often - just like how zilean isnt chosen often in relativity to sona/taric
