In terms of "helping the team" on a larger scale? Yeah that would take away from Tryn's strength; in terms of helping the team by giving such a HEAVY carry as Tryndamere the 3-5 kills he now needs to be considered as "having a good early game round"...It would be great for him.
There are plenty of mana champs who don't need the blue buff if played correctly. Annie, Casseopia, Malzahar, Gragas, Zilean (iffy depends on the playstyle for Zil really), Brand. Mana hungry AP champs who see tournament play: Anivia/Orianna....
I'm not saying giving the blue buff to your AP champ or perhaps even support isn't a good thing. It is, but it depends on match to match. Why would I give blue to a 0/5/0 Brand or anyone with that score tbh?

I do understand your point though. There are often times when I am jungle Amumu and need mana out the yazoo because of constant ganks and spamming tantrum with ult. Then some jackass comes along who is a mage but not mana hungry and just takes it because he is a mage. I'm always like "wtf?". I think the DoT AoE and CC with Amumu is more strategic late game than a mage with faster mana regen when they don't need it.

Why would you think you can win the game with a 0/5/0 brand?
Theory crafting is useless if you don't assume a few things.
If you didn't get counter jungled, then Karthus would be the best jungler in the game.
Insanely fast clear time as well as very reliable, and powerful ganks.

I've carried teams with worse scores than 0/5/0 on a few champs. Mainly because the enemy team was bad, my team ofc being worse. And somehow me having a spurt of non-failness (very out of character for me) didn't hurt.
Isn't the point of theorycrafting to take what we know, some of what we assume, and transform it into plausible information? We aren't playing a what if game, well not entirely. Either way, depends on a match to match basis is what I was getting at. Anywhoo Tryn having slower decaying Fury bar or an ever increasing Fury bar for a few minutes would be rather....Empowering to say the least.

Giving any jungler MORE incentive to not give away buffs to their team mates makes them a less viable jungler imho.
Lee Sin is extremely strong in the jungle for that reason.
