So newb here, just wanted to ask : Is team compo in normal games really that important? Cos people just don't have any sense of teamwork at all, the rush straight off the bat for their favourite hero often leaving me to play the tank/ support hero. So is it really necessary for a team compo?

in solo queue don't expect wonders, yet if you get to put up a team consisting in:
Tank+support+AD carry+mage+Jungling tanky DPS, your chances to win are far higher (considering they all know their roles and their chars)

For all you questions about jungling

Like Zio said, it does make a difference. Team comp will contribute to the success of the match, but it is not necessary for victory, especially at low levels. Pick a champion that fits the team well if you can, but try to make sure you know how to play them. As you get to a higher level people will GENERALLY consider team comp before locking in their favorite carry. Arranged 3s or 5s are always nice, because you can discuss your comp before the game.
Thanks to The_Nameless_Bard for the sig!

basically what they all said. Never be afraid to try a new champ in normals either. Only way to learn imo.
