If your guide is worth upvoting, it will get upvotes - Eventually. (One of my guides took over a month before it started getting attention, and a bit longer still before it received a nice recommend.)
And if there's a massive pattern in downvoters, then it will get investigated.
Everything in between isn't nearly as significant when it comes to getting downvoted.
Now that would explain the amazing number of bad guides being so high voted

Yeah, I've seen your thread and I remember the C2V.
not only did it not prevent troll votes, but it also caused sheep vote problems.
