Almost always, when I am having a bad day in LoL, it is because something is affecting me personally. Usually, this is lack of sleep or a bad hangover. I just can't focus to the level I need to be able to. Also, stress can be a factor when things in my life just refuse to get off my mind, like a looming paper due for grad school or an upcoming bill that I'm concerned about being able to pay.
Honestly, the best thing I have found to do is just to take a break from ranked play. You won't feel bad about under-performing in normals. Usually I take the whole night off, though sometimes all I need to do is walk away and go do something else for a couple hours. By the time I get back, my mind is a bit sharper.

When I lose a game in ranked (Diamond 1), I do the following:
Evaluate whether I caused it, do I have more deaths than kills? Overall gold? etc.
If I was a part of the problem I stop playing ranked for the day, if not, I play another ranked.
If I lose that one then I stop.
