I don't vote down when I'm forced to comment unless I know the person can take criticism.
That stops me from voting in a lot of cases. There are far too many idiots to even try to be constructive to random people on the site.
I really wish we could have the option to vote and comment anonymously.

This is EXACTLY how I feel now. Most times I just wait until they get past 20 votes. So many people hate me now because of honest opinion and my guides show it.

We did have guest commenting when the site first launched. It was fine for a while but eventually someone started using it to spam and attack others.

Allowing anonymous comments for members only is different but... Honestly I can see this just starting even more unrest than the original c2v system did.

I suppose we could allow it with restrictions. Minimum reputation perhaps.

Interesting idea but then there become too many restrictions on voting. People have to jump through all kinds of loopholes just to voice an opinion. Even though I'm sad that I've been revenge down-voted I don't think the system needs any more overhauls.

This would have nothing to do with voting, I thought we were just talking about being able to comment anonymously so that you can post legit criticisms without getting attacked?

Oh right ok. Let me just quietly retract my statement...

Either way I tend to agree, more restrictions and complications on the site are just going to get frustrating. Although having the OPTION of commenting anonymously, if you meet certain restrictions, doesn't prevent anyone from doing anything... So might be ok in that sense.

Agreed, I definitely don't want to screw with the voting any more, it's complicated enough already heheh :)

I don't see the need of any restrictions requiring anonymous commenting/voting. Mobs should still be able to see who the person is so they can moderate accordingly. I doubt anyone would just use anonymous comments to troll, you can just not comment at all.

Exactly.
It would be nice if you would be able to anonymously comment on the vote comments too, if that's not clear yet.
