I have started playing and stopped playing at very early season 4 (2~3 months from level 1 to silver II), I have not played since I dropped to silver III and I would like to play again. Can someone give me an update to mainly what has changed, who should I pick/not pick anymore for each role and other stuff I should know?

there is no champ that you should "NOT" pick. every champ that you get good with is good :D. for example I'd never seen a Nautilus in game so after reading his abilities I bought him and started playing with him and I do just fine with him. so my advice to you : find the champs you like and by that I mean their play style and their character, and get good with them and start to amaze people who think this champ sucks

I did the same thing with Mordekaiser. I started hearing so many things of Morde, and how a good Morde can just wreck the playing field. One day, I made the awful mistake of playing Yasuo against a decent Morde, and soon after that, I bought him.I played him a few times on mid, but other mid laners grabbed my attention more.

One day, I saw a video of a (I think) a diamond player who plays pretty much nothing but Morde top. After thinking about it for awhile, I thought it would be a good idea, went into a normal, and sent him top. I think my first opponent was Renekton, and a decent one at that too. Completely dominated the lane! And I continued to dominate lanes after that.

Now, I have nearly 100 ranked games on him, 90% of which are on top (begining of season mid lanes). I've played him with so much success, that even lolskill thinks my best lane is mid!

Anyway, to answer the OP, essentially, you came back at just the right time. Preseason is about to roll out, and the changes it will bring are IMMENSE. So, just play a few Team Builder games on the new Summoners Rift (oh yeah, that happened) :D, get back into the swing of things, and pay attention to the patch notes that may or may not be coming out in the next couple days.
Thank You Emoriam!

I would love to give you some advice of what champions you should focus on but it would be helpful if you told us what champs/role you were playing before you stopped. It is better to start playing again from a place you left off because a lot of the skill of a champion comes down to muscle memory and it will comeback much faster.

With that being said, I would steer clear of ranked for a while because you were probably at a higher skill level when you stopped playing to where you are now. This means that hopping straight into solo queue will likely cause you to drop in rank and get frustrated. Try to get your game knowledge back by playing normals, reading guides, and watching people better than yourself play before jumping back in.

I hope this was helpful :p
