I prefer AP TF and it's a lot easier to win your lane as AP. You can also still backdoor using your lichbane procs to kill towers / inhibs, and push lanes like crazy with your wild cards.
If you try AP TF try doing double doran's rings, then boots, then deathcap. This will give you good survivability and also great damage. Focus on stunning and poking with wild cards.
If you're playing AD keep in mind his early game is bad, try to last hit using his blue card. Once you hit 6 keep an eye out for possible ganks you can help with (get you some money and exp and help out your team) but keep in mind that if you are in solo lane not to leave your lane if your turret is in danger.
One if the best reasons he can carry is because he can push a lane (farming and applying pressure to enemy team) then once the other team tries to come stop you, or engages in a fight, you can ult out to another lane to farm more, or to where the fight is if your team needs you. Split pushing is really strong and hard to counter, especially in lower lvl games where people are less organized / don't pay attention to the map.

Thanks to GrandMasterD for my sig!
So you would agree the guide kinda exaggerates his raw damage potential? I mean come on, on anti-tank TF he writes: "His damage output after 3rd attack is enormous, not to be avoided and really, really hurts. He can destroy a tank in a matter of seconds, other squishes die in 4 attacks..." I have not noticed that.
DPS TF: "DPS Twisted Fate is a mighty champion in team fights as his Red Card and AA kills the enemy team immediately."
I have tried both builds although I didnt manage to completely finish them, but still.

That's GREATLY exaggerated, Twisted Fate as a DPS doesn't melt everything because he's sustained damage because he depends on item procs (SotD). He does do a hefty amount of damage between SotD and his Stacked Deck but it doesn't instantly kill people in 4 hits.
Guideline for TF: Are you dieing in team fights? If yes go backdoor. If no your entire team is winning anyways.

@Bwong: Uhhh the DPS build he is refering to does not have SOTD.
On-topic: Anyways I have played AD TF, and I agree with Bwong (although I rarely have the chance to do it.) I don't see him as a carry except for in the aspect that Mowen put it as. I see him more as an anti-carry or you pick a target (besides the tank hopefully) and you kill it. Very focused single target DPS, and once you kill that target you back out get another gold card go in and repeat.

In my eyes there is only justice

Check out my AP/AD TF Build
You pretty much said the only reasons (imo) to play AD Fate. It's also nice for ranked (draft mode) since if I first pick TF, and even if I say I'm ap, sometimes everyone will pick AP anyways, so I can at least switch to AD to try to balance out the team.
AP TF is still good at backdooring because of lich bane procs.

Then I wanted to save all the points for lvl 20 runes but as I heard how strong TF is supposed to be and how well he apparently can carry games with "imperial damage output" (see guide with highest % score) he sparked my interests.
I followed the given AD dps itembuild which is supposed to destroy enemy teams with red card and single targets with golden, yet i never found myself nearly as hard carrying as depicted in the guide. And how the hell should I when neither his Q nor his passive scale with attack damage. I know hes regarded one of the strongest picks but I guess mainly of his global teleport and on demand 2s stun.
But as for damage output, this guide is largely exaggerated in my opinion.
Any thoughts/tips? Any replays that work with the buggy replay tool which wont download old .exes for you in order to watch old replays?
Thx in advance
