ice types are bad in general other than mamoswine who is only good for rocks and ice shard while being sorta tanky

avalugg is a very niche pokemon, meaning anything with any special attacks will kill it because its only good stat is defense
weavile dies to bullet punch which means its speed is useless, same with mach punch if anyone uses it, it also has a weakness to stealth rocks like every other ice type meaning if you are going life orb thats like 2-3 less attacks max

What I meant by defensive type was type for a pokemon to have because it is weak to many common attacking types and sometimes entry hazards. Ice is (or at least was in gen 5) a great attacking type, mainly because of all the dragons running around. But yeah most Ice types are either niche or bad.
