Hey guys ^^ As most of you know, I'm a secondary English/Science teacher. I've always enjoyed making my own worksheets and handouts to go with my lessons, as very rarely does anything I find online actually suit what I'm trying to teach.

But at the same time, it's been a while since I've had to complete a worksheet as a student, and the memories I do have revolve around math worksheets, nothing word-based.

So, the point of this thread: What boring worksheets do you remember from high school or primary school? I basically want to see responses so I know what sort of worksheets to avoid making in the future. Alternatively, do you remember any super fun worksheets? Or at least, interesting?

Thanks :)

I remember once in my trigonometry class, we got this worksheet right before thanksgiving, that had proofs on it. The class could collaborate on this worksheet, and for each proof that we solved, the class would get bonus points on our next exam.

There was this one proof we did that asked us to prove that parallel lines can sometimes intersect... many times, and that triangles can in fact have more than 180 degrees

Needless to say, that was probably one of the most engaging activities i've had in a while.

From what I recall in highschool, I remember that I disliked activities/worksheets that put heavy emphasis on the textbook, and I liked worksheets that prompts extrapolation from some supplemental reading.

In fact, I just generally disliked textbooks in high school. I would be more motivated to do a problem correctly if a teacher wrote it down on the board, as opposed to just him saying, "do question number 4 on this page and turn it in at the end of class"

Could someone provide an example? I think they don't use worksheets in Finland (or very seldom)
