I didn't watch all of Argentina's games, but in the ones I did see (vs. Belgium, the Netherlands and Germany) he didn't have a big influence. The reason Argentina got so far is because they defended terrifically, not because Messi set up or made a bunch of goals every game - which is fine, it doesn't mean he was bad, but he simply wasn't the best. Messi lead every attack of Argentina, we did 8 goals in this WC, and in 7 Messi was involve, 4 scoring and 3 assisting... Messi is playing in a team who needs him taking the ball in midfield and taking the ball to the goal... that's not fair for messi...[/quote]
