In 72h we'll stop hearing about the mayans. No one else will talk about it and the next generation will never know of their existance. It's like an apocalypse really, at least for them, since their legacy will be forgotten.
Pro-tip: If you ever start a civilisation make sure you predict the end of the world. However, don't just choose a single day or it'll be forgotten, make it so you can interprete it as several different days, possibly centuries apart, so every generation remembers about you through your ******** predictions.
