Q: Why are vaccines such a hot topic at the moment?
the reason it is recently a hot topic is because of the whole autism thing and this movement to have your kids be vaccine free because this group believes that the negative effects outweigh the positive plus the idea of being all natural; however, this is a stupid movement because there is no scientific evidence of any advantages of not vaccinating. quite the opposite actually. why don't we see cases of measles, mumps, or rubella much anymore? (outside of the recent measles outbreak at disneyland because someone chose not to vaccinate) why don't we see as many whooping cough deaths? why don't we see malaria in the US? why don't we see polio? all because of vaccine development.
outside of that. i am not sure why seasonal flu vaccines came out of the woodwork and everyone started offering it. i have always questioned it. maybe the CDC saw a sudden rise in flu fatalities per year or something.
