the devs have plain out stated that they will only support an 'esports' scene if theres a high enough demand for it, otherwise they will let dota 2 and lol own that.

Played it a bit.
Overall, it is a bit too casual to actually be able to promote competitive gaming, but at the same time has some high skill mechanics that can be brought out.

I played it for about 10 minutes when it was in closed beta and uninstalled, the tutorial was by far the worst tutorial I have ever played so I uninstalled before even finishing it. But I decided maybe I was just a little harsh on it so I am re-installing it now.

I just disliked the tutorial because it was so slow paced, holding your hand though every little detail. the closed beta tutorial just had every bad tutorial stereo type in the book
I understand you have to explain what Icons do in a MOBA or RTS, but the entire time I couldn't stop saying "Yeah I Get IT!"
Also the closed Beta Tutorial was just super dry and un-skipable so I just uninstalled, Given the option of playing though a 20-40 minute tutorial or just playing another round of good old SR I chose to just go play more League. But I just finished re-downloading the game so I will give it another try, but I want to play a competitive Moba and Strife just didn't really seam competitive at the time.

strife isn't going to be a competitive game, so if thats what you're looking for i'd suggest you don't waste your time here.
and yes though i agree the tutorial is god awful because of how hand holding it is. there are 2 tutorials and then you have a slightly tutorialish bot game you have to do but then you're able to play the game.

It is actually pretty well build.
Easy to get in as LoL, but also has some harder parts like DotA (Rocket Boots) etc.

Also, killing stuff feels so straightforward :/
