They're not the only one. Don't forget the nuclear sharing either.
That list of incidents is ridiculous. Unbelievable. And the fact that they're public might just mean this is the tip of the even more absurd iceberg.
EDIT: Thanks for sharing!

********'s a pretty good fertilizer
Yeah, at least we have fewer than we used to. I'm pretty sure the US stockpile, at its peak, had enough bombs to literally cover the land surface of the planet in nuclear fireballs. We've still got enough to hit every major population center on the globe a dozen times or so, but complete extinction of all land-based life is a little harder now.
What's weird about the US's nuclear stockpile is that we don't really need these ICBMs at all. Seriously, they're kinda' pointless. All the US's strike-ready nuclear missiles are on nuclear submarines, because it's damn near impossible to stop us from being able to fire them if we decide to.
As far as the arguments about closing them go, it's not about the missiles. It's about military bases and money. States with these silos don't want them closed 'cuz they cost money, and that's money coming into the state. And maybe the military bases that service the silos will close if the silos do ('cuz there's jack **** else in the state that a base would do), which means even less money.

Germnay is apperently part of this nuclear sharing thing. The crazy part of this is that PA-200 Tornado IDS bombers are used to deliver the bombs. The bombers have a range of 1389 kilometers.
Just to give you where the bombs could go here is a screenshot from Google Maps(the red point is Büchel Air Base, the place where the bombs are located):

This means that the bombs(no rokets, so no significant additional range) can only be deployed in middle Europe. Keep in mind that the tornados have to land somewhere as well, so the actual range in which the bombs can be deployed is even lower.

edit: The software of the jets and the bombs will be modernized in 2015, so the bombs prohably serve a purpose. I can't really tell what that could be other than america wanting to go to war with one of the eu countries soon(which seems like utter ********). Probably been planned for several years, honestly. Perhaps the initial thrust to get this done happened as early as 2010, but certainly no earlier than mid-2013. So before all the recent Russia stuff. If anything, the modernization could've been prompted by instability in the middle east or Greece; the timing matches those better than anything in the past year.
