So guys, I wanted to ask you, since I sometimes like to read long posts to find something useful amonst them, to then find a Too Long; Didn't Read version at the bottom of the wall of text, which gave me just as much as having read that entire wall of text.

I generally like the idea of TL;DR's, but shouldn't they, in a way be in the top? I mean, one who scrolls past a wall of text because it doesn't look interesting isn't very likely to even notice the TL;DR-version, are they?

Here's an example of what I mean:

Quoted:
It really comes down to humanity to solve this widely spread problem. One might even call it a VIRUS that recides in the mind. Some people call it sorcery, but one would argue, based on what John Fellowly says about this: "Toast is a good thing", that everyone should think so, however when it actually comes to it, many people seem to resist and reject the fact that they like toast, simply because it is white bread without any grains, and will make them fat. However my friends, I seem to have found the perfect solution for us all. One might call this divine intervention. Well... I CALL IT PHYSICS. I was thinking... If we can have grains. And if we can have toast... THEN WHY NOT COMBINE THE TWO DAMNED THINGS, AND THUS CREATE:

MEATLOAF.

TL;DR: We should mix toast with grains, to make people stop QQ'ing.

Now here's an example of the other version:
Quoted:

TL;DR was a response to long posts.

So, People started putting "inb4 TL;DR" at the end of posts, to troll the inb4***s.

And then people started putting TL;DR at the end of their posts followed by a short summary.
Tri lane for life.

Temzilla did actually give an answer..

Also, posting a TL;DR by yourself, is like saying what ur saying is half-way irrelevant and could be put in a much smarter and beneficial way for the reader. If u want to put TL;DR in the top, why not just remove the long version?

Wrong.

Some people like hearing about the whole story, some people like a short and sweet version. Example:

Quoted:

Today, I went out one day on my usual jog and I saw some punk teenager attempting to deface some public property. I yelled "Stop" at the kid and chased him down, finally pinning him to the ground and taking the spray paint from his hand. His mother (who was apparently watching the whole thing) rushed over to us and picked up his son from off the ground. I told the mother as I handed her the can of spray paint "You should really keep an eye on your son, he can get into some serious trouble with the authorities if they catch him defacing public property like that." To my shock, the mother started yelling at me saying "WHO SAYS YOU CAN TELL MY KID WHAT HE CAN AND CAN NOT DO! LET HIM DO WHAT HE WANTS AND QUIT GETTING INTO THE WAY HE EXPRESSES HIMSELF". I stood their dumbfounded. I couldn't believe that the mother was actually allowing her brat son to spray paint the walls in the public garden on the park across the street where I live.

As if it were divine justice, some kids came by and were playing with paintball guns. A few stray shots from one gun flew over and shot up the purse of the lady who yelled at me for yelling at her son. The mom looked PIIISSSSSEDD! She shouted "GET YOUR ***ES OUT OF HERE OR ELSE I WILL CALL THE POLICE FOR RUINING MY PROPERTY!". I chuckled and yelled back at her "Why would you do that? You can't tell them what they can or cannot do! Quit getting into their business and let them express themselves the way they want to." The mother got all silent, you can tell just by looking at her face how pissed off she was. She took her kid and stomped off out of the park.

tl;dr- Parents nowadays don't know how to be parents. V:

Sometimes, stories are worth reading to get the full understanding of a situation or where OP is coming from. The tl;dr just gives the general idea of what the topic the OP is talking about for those who come in late or who would rather just give an answer to the OP's general question. However, people who actually take the time to read the whole post will have a better understanding of the situation and topic and will have better responses then those who skip down to the tl;dr. :V
