Greeting Summoners
I have been playing LoL for atleast 2 years now and feel really happy with the gameplay and all the features the game offers. Since the Season 1 was launched i have been playing ranked all of my games, But im struggling round 1150-1200 elo. I mostly play whats needed and rotate between Ashe, Malphite and Swain.

To my problem; When i take ashe for that carry-needing team i mostly head for mid, but i never do aswell as i do when i play other chars. Im allways ending up zoned up and masspushed by big minion waves. My focus lies on last-hit but this isnt the focus for my opponent. Since im allways looking for improvment for my gameplay Im now asking YOU, mobafire community for advice. Ashe-veterans out here, help me out :)

Best regards Vanteen @ EU

What you should do is learn a decent self-reliant strong mid-laning champion, such as tristana or maybe miss fortune. If you need to first-pick an AD carry, pick one of the self-reliant champions. If you need to last pick a ranged AD carry, look at your team and the enemy's:

Does your team have suitable team comp to support Ashe? If so, pick ashe.

Does the enemy team have a strong mid laner that you can't shut down (such as annie or urgot)? If so, don't pick ashe.

That's the best way to determine whether or not you should pick ashe UNTIL you can lane decently against a strong laner. I'm assuming that in your elo your enemies won't counter-pick decently, but here's a few things about ashe:

-she's not a bad laner, but she's not a weak laner either. If the enemy puts a very strong laner against you (such as urgot), you might have trouble.

-Ashe is strongest when she can farm consistently. Having other champions that can hold their lanes and push the game to late game, where Ashe shines, is going to be best.

-In lane, Ashe should be focused more on farming than anything. Having a high CS takes the front seat to harassing your enemy.

Ashe is a rather weak laner.

But she's ranged and she has a poke. Compared to others, she's not bad.

Ashe isn't that weak compared to a lot of other champs that generally need mid. Her kiting is insane. :P

As far as laning advice: Take boots and 3 health pots. Go in for last hits only. If the other guy tries to zone you, just stand back and volley him, he won't be able to keep it up.

If you're laning against someone who has a lower attack range than you, just use frost arrows to kite them around. If they have a longer range, don't harass at all. Keep moving in for last hit, then run back out. Boots will help you keep decent distance on anyone who would be able to just start hitting you.

I've recently started playing a lot of ranges carries and I've found that she's a lot weaker than all the other ranges carries. The only one that might be weaker than Ashe is Sivir.

She's a great champion, but she's just weak in the lane.

You can be outzoned. Even if not completely, they can force you away from ranged minions without risking getting hit by Volley.
I'm a strong independent black mage who don't need no mana.

weak in lane compared to other ranged carries. However, a ranged carry isn't on every team. It's pretty easy to counter-pick her, however - tristana or urgot, for instance, can dominate her in lane.

If you're talking about an adequate team to back you up:

Pure tanks: Shen, Amumu, Rammus, Singed, Jarvan IV or maybe some others. Anyone who makes someone else the target of focus, because Ashe WILL be the #1 target if you don't have an adequate tank.

Pure supports: Janna, Zilean, Taric, anyone who can buff you up. A pure support isn't quite necessary as long as you have a partial support (Nunu, Maokai) and one of the pure tanks.

If you're talking about a poor enemy team that would warrant picking ashe:

Bad tanks:CC-free offtanks instead of a pure tank: Mordekaiser, Mundo, Blitzcrank (as long as you can dodge the pull you're okay). They won't CC you, plain and simple

No anti carries: Poppy and Renekton, anyone who can make a beeline for you and completely destroy you.
