I have used both items on this same hybrid mordekaiser build before, as follows.
Randuins omen,
Force of Nature,
Sorc shoes,
Malady,
Guinsoos,
Bloodthirster,
Blue buff and Exixers all game long.
AD, AS, AP, Tank.
The build takes towers quite nicely.

as for nashor's and SotD, i'd say go ahead and stick with nashor's. sure its 10% less attack speed and you don't get the unique passive and active skill of the SotD, i'm sure the 55 ap and the 25% cdr is worth it.
plus, surge is a different hit (every 5th), and the damage of surge is based on your ad.
you also said the reason you want ad/as is to bridge the cd gap, which is why nashors is so important.
