Cervance, you've unfortunately been misled my the way I set up how we input the numbers. "Cd" in my equations represents +Crit damage. So if you have no items or masteries, it's 0, not 1. Bit of a remnant of when I originally wrote these equations strictly for input calculations.

Rioters play LoL and shoutcast tournaments.
And make skins for Teemo.
And Cait.

+Rep for making such a breathtaking equation! :D (must have been hard work)

Queso, thanks for pointing out that I didn't explain all of the different reductions. Basically, I'm ignoring percentage armor reductions because we aren't working with Wukong, Jarvan, or the couple of others that have those, and as far as I remember no items have those. After that, flat penetration and reduction I rolled up into "P#" since they are applied consecutively.
Yeah I agree with you I was just being thorough.
You mentioned you're about to complete your degree in Mathematics so you don't need any confirmation, but I did double check all the differentials in matlab and they are all correct. Anyways what exactly are you going to have your spreadsheet do?
From your first post, I think you want a spreadsheet where you input what your current stats are and then it will tell you which stat to buy next to most increase your DPS, is that right?
+Rep for taking the time to work with this Chandro. I could have intitiated the calculations myself if I wasn't more concerned with configuring more simple equations specific to the few champions I prefer... and just playing the game when I get the chance. :)
Edit: Just as a sidenote, I despise math. That statement is limited only to the ******ed examples that are given to one throughout their educational career. I think that any math beyond basic Algebra is useless (or only extended algebra) and used strictly for teaching to others, to make money to waste their time. In my opinion it is all quite easy though, and I absolutely love math, only when I'm doing it on my own terms and pertaining to something I truly like (perfect example: LoL). If any of this paragraph is offensive, I apologise. Just let me know and I can clarify it for you. :)

Samgoeslol, "δS/δDPS" is acceptable differential shorthand for "Partial differential [with respect to DPS] of S". And we're not restricting to break-even points because this is theoretical at the moment, not applicative.
