1.) 1vs1 is the dumbest thing you can ever do in LoL to proof anything.
2.) MR. You dont have to fear anything besides this one opponent (see 1.) so MR to **** him. I'd say you shouldn't even bother going Sorc boots just Merc's and Void as 3rd/4th item.
3.) Against Swain you have the upper hand imo, the play style is rather similar except that Swain doesn't have the pushing power in order to fight the minions, and since you don't have to fear any ganks (see 1.) just wave him to the tower, he'll lose some gold this way no matter how good.
4.) With Morg against a LeBlanc you're pretty much ****ed (see 1.)
Well yeah, that's basically it, but again:You neither can proof player nor champ quality with a 1vs1.

Morg versus Swain is easy if you're not stupid, like most Morgs I get.
Don't. Try. To. Kill. In. Lane.
Unless you saw him get Q'ed by you twice. Just afk farm, he gets pushed and farms like **** against tower.
If he 1 vs 1 you, he needs to know that you will never kill each other unless one of you is stupid. If it's on proving grounds, he will probably win coz he can heal faster and more effectivly than you. Exhaust Ignite are key.

You just need to know this xD
Morgana VS Swain... let me think...
Well, get your snare to keep his ult far from you (or far from minions). Your shield can cancel his snare if I'm not mistaken. And get some MR, maybe abyssal

I'm well aware of how stupid 1v1s are as well, it's just that we both reluctantly ended up accepting it just so they'd all shut up about it. The thought of having to go up against his
Swain got me thinking since like I said in the opening post, I haven't run across a good
Swain player yet. I honestly want to know more about the match-up, since right now I'm not just doing it for the 1v1.
So
Morgana has a slight advantage in the 1v1 match-up. But then let's take away the 1v1 setting and put it in a more realistic setting of a normal 5v5 match. What should I be doing and who'd have the upperhand?

So

Did people lead you to think that? It's downright wrong.
About 1 vs 1 (assuming you're both good players)
1) Pre-6, you only have two damaging tools and 1 to "prevent" it. However, your Q is easy to dodge by experienced players, and no one stays under W if not hit by Q. Swain has two targetted spells, one of which increases all his damage sources (including ignite and auto-attacks), so if he's smart he'll E you and if you shield he'll auto you so you still get hurt;
2) Morgana'only outsustains Swain until he is level 6. By then, you must have him down to 50% health in order to kill with your full combo AND ignite unless his either an idiot or out of mana;
3) On a 1 vs 1 on the Proving Grounds map, the problem thickens. Swain can get mana regen faster than you, so he can push and harass you at ease and heal faster than you would;
Morgana's 5 vs 5 "advantage" comes from:
1) Swain farms bad under tower pre-6, unless he levels W just for it. This means that you can push him to the thower again and again and he'll either use spells to try and somewhat freeze the lane or he'll have to farm undertower and ask for ganks;
2) She doesn't need to 1 vs 1 (and it'd be stupid to do so on Swain, unless he's an idiot that can't dodge your Q. Then, proceed to rape him);
3) Your team fight impact comes from a huge disrupt, his comes from solid damage output;
4) You can try have your jungler gank him if you're losing, but remember that he enough CC for two, so try to force the gank in case he wasted his W (Q has a relatively low cooldown);
Neither of this means Morgana will be a better pick versus Swain. You fill different niches.

FalseGod dunno how you did it, but you downright contradict yourself.
Just take the "1)" from your "5vs5" list and you said the same as the guys who "mislead" him.
Morg will simply push Swain to his tower. He will loose massive creeps and except for lvling his AoE first you can't do anything, but that would be plain dumb since you'd try to counter Morg with something she's way better at.
Gaining more Mana on Swain thanks to proving ground? Well, fine with that since you can't use it anyway, Morg won't come in your range.
Morg got an advantage overall because she will dominate Swain early.
We're talking about an 1vs1 remember? So no "they're niche picks".

My current main is
I've heard from some of them in that it's probably a punishing whiffs or mistakes type of match-up and in that whoever gets ahead wins. I honestly do not know if this is true or not, so I'd like some help on the following:
A) Item route.
B) Skill sequences.
C) Gameplay VS Swain.
D) Anything else I need to know.
And after thinking about it, this'll also help me out in the long run since I also need the experience of playing against
