pretty sure, and I checked on LoL wiki, that Lug is right -- smaller damage even if you rapidly click R in succession

Thanks to TRUeLM, Plastictree, Scrax, Xiaowiriamu, foggy12, JahGFX, jhoijhoi, msrobinson, JEFFY40HANDS, Nyoike, MissMaw, and me :) for the sigs!
I think at one point that riot said "it does an amount proportional to the time it was charging"

It does, however, it will deal -significantly- less damage even if you're JUST about to finish your channeling. Say, if you're 0.5 seconds away from casting it, you may only deal 800 damage, instead of 1125. Not completely sure about the numbers, but generally speaking, you want to keep it going for as long as possible if you're out to do damage.
The purpose of Shen is to flip out and kill people.

see what i was thinking that when it was canceled would be what damage it deals.. ie if you canceled it at 50% charging then it would do 50% damage.. etc..
Exactly. I'm pretty sure you deal a percent of the damage per percent of the channel time.

Yea I figured that and a full nunu ult is amazing to get off, but I just started playing him and just wanted to know if I could still do some damage if I hit r right before a dazzle hit me. I know it's significantly less damage but the animation finished when I personally cancelled it myself (the snowflake ice on the ground)
But thank s guys anyway

Also when it is cancelled by a stun or whatever else does it still do a limited amount of damage or none at all
