The true answer is trading is almost never worth it.

If we're speaking competitively.

It's better to creep carefully, and force people to base or go home, and get rich Via CS rather than kills.

If you do happen to kill someone in lane, it's generally with a jungler. Most skilled players won't die 1v1 in lane. No matter how bad the match up is.

1. Is it 'worth it' to get first blood?
2. Is it 'worth it' to get a kill and give a teammate(s) an assist?
3. Is it 'worth it' to push a turret and then die?
4. Is it worth it to die defending a turret?
5. Is it 'worth it' to save a teammate on a killing spree?
6. Is it 'worth it' to get a multi-kill (killing spree or no)?
7. Is it 'worth it' when your target has a snowball item with stacks ( Sword of the Occult, Mejai's Soulstealer)?

1. Yes, more money.
2. No, let your team with 5 alive and no extra gold is better
3. Yes, you'll only win the game if you push
4. Yes, that'll make your team gain time
5. No, let him die
6. No, just stay alive and push
7. Of course, the enemy will get 2 stacks and lose 1/3. Totally "worth it".
