League of Legends (LoL) Question: What Support should i buy

There's a thread for these kinds of questions.

I've always liked Braum, or Allistar. Sorakka is ok too. If you are just looking for one supp you can play all the time i'd say Braum

Depends on what is your play style. If u like AP supports take Morgana, she is fun and safepick cuz of her's Black Shield. Annie as support is pretty nice but squishy early game. Tanky supports are the best and currently in meta, like Alistar (MAD COW). My presonal best by order is :Alistar, Thresh, Janna, Annie, Morgana, Blitz(previous 2nd until W nerf).

3 categories for supports are:

Damage Mitigation

Crowd Control

Unique

There are 2 types of damage mitigation, heals and shields. Heals are more effective in long fights where shields are more effective in short fights. Shields generally shield more than a heal will heal for because the effect is not permanent. Beware of healing reduction

Crowd Controllers either do alot of damage like annie, or no damage at all, like leona

and finally, supports like zilean, braum, and nunu all fall into their own category because they provide a very unique support mechanic.


My advice, is to pick one of each so you are versatile
