Pick whoever you think appeals to you.

I remember when I first started playing I loved how Kassadin looked and how he had a cool blink as an ulti.
Eventually you'll understand the game more and more and grow a good understanding of what champs are good and what are bad.

It's a natural process and enjoyable process. Don't let unnatural factors ruin it!

There aren't really any super-bad champions right now so just feel free to learn whatever you want. Just enjoy the game for now :D

I suggest trying out every champion that you have never played that is on free week. It will give you a better idea about the feel of those champions. If you find a nice champion on free week, and have played a couple games with them and they are still fun, then you should probably buy them after the free week is over.

You just have to try every champion and role. My main was Fiddlesticks at that lvl. Don't forget to pick your lane carefully.
You should also try special roles like support and jungle. Those can be very fun, especially Blitzcrank support and Nocturne jungle, he's my main :P

Jungling or playing specific champions can be hard to master, for example, when i first played Teemo, i sucked with him. I didn't knew why, but i just wanted to keep playing him until i got the hang of it. After i learned how to play Teemo, and mastered him, he became my main.
He's a good champion for beginners, you should try him :)
Other champions wich are easy to play and good for beginners are Master Yi, Ashe, Garen, Ryze and Darius (because he's OP (=overpowered) :P)

look for the artwork and backstory then play the champion if you like them great or keep going till you find it

or find friends that play then find the champion you like that works well
