League of Legends (LoL) Question: Crystalline Flask

    Crystalline Flask

So the price has been upped and so have the healing it provides. My question is, will it still be good for mid lane start? I don't really have le maths, but it probably hasn't affected those who'd start with it at mid, right? Was it just a hit on supports and the silly sustain wars top (that will still take place)?

It's early morning, but I hope I did this right.

A Health Potion gives 150hp for 35 gold.
The old Flask gives 100hp for 225 gold.

    225 / 35 = 6.43x the gold price.

6.43 health potions replenish 964 health. 964 health / 100 health per flask uses = 9.64 uses. So the old flask was more efficient if you used it at least 10 times.

The new Flask gives 120 health for 345 gold.
    345 / 35 = 9.86x the gold price.
    9.86 health Potions replenish 1479 health. 1479 / 120 health per flask use = 12.33 uses.

Ergo, with the new flask it becomes cheaper from the 13th use onward, compared to the 10th use of the old flask.

Draw your own conclusions. Clearly, all of this doesn't take into account the mana replenishment.

I definitely agree with both of you, it's still good in certain situations. I just don't see myself buying this as frequently as I used to, which makes me sad.

Yeah, I'm still doing it for mana mids, feels great.

It may not be as efficient as the old crystalline flask, but it is still a strong starting item. Especially, if you are playing in a poke lane.

yes. it's still very cost efficient. though they did increase the overall price, they also buffed how much each charge would heal. overall, just a slight nerf to the item.

I expect it'll still see use in mid lane. I won't be surprised to see more 11 pots in top lane though. I'm not sure the flask is going to cut it in really competitive early games.

    It's either 11 pot 1 ward or 9 pot 2 ward.

9 Health pots + 2 wards is what I've seen a lot of.
