New Tier List

Description

Yes, some of these aren't exactly off-meta, but it's not like you see them as a support more than once every thousand games, right?
I have tried all of these as supports, some of them I even play often.
1

Why is this not played more as a support?

Champions that to me seem like really good supports

2

Decent

champions that seem to fit into the support role just fine

3

Could work, but has some minor drawbacks

Champions that work well as supports, but may not be that good in specific situations or lack something crucial for supporting.

4

Could work, but has some SIGNIFICANT drawbacks

Champions that could work as supports, but have drawbacks or lack something that greatly hampers their ability to work as a support, but may be great against specific types of champions

5

Does not work

Okay, maybe you can make it work, but it's probably going to be hard

6

Does not work at all

Champions that simply cannot be used as supports. Trust me, I have tried.

Nunu support with Yasuo is where it's at, very fun but unfortunately very easy to int on.

Ha ha, I believe that. But it honestly doesn't sound like a bad combo, with Nunu's snowball. And you can probably do some crazy stuff, like knocking up with snowball, then charging R while Yasou keeps them in the air.
Also, yo ucan probably gank other lanes super easy, as well as helping jungler.
This is just what I think, I'll probably try it at some point and int xD

OOOOOOF, Yes Nocturne Support isn't the loveliest thing to have. But Nocturne mains can surely mess with it. I've even played him as Tank support before against Yasuo ADCs which is where he shines the most. Making a whole tier just to call him unplayable hurts my feelings :D
haven't played him in ranked at all but in normals, He can work if played well (preferably against melee sups or Yasuo ADCs).

thanks for reading.
-a random Nocturne main, +500k MPs.

Sadly, he is not that good as a support. I tried, I really tried. But almost every attempt ended with a pretty bad score and an angry ADC.
Worry not, though, I will try my best to find other champions that are just as bad, so he won't be alone down there! Even at the cost of many games.

BEWARE of the angry ADCs my friend :D

You can try Zed if you know how to play him. It's absolutely amazing to punish enemy mistakes combined with the First Strike rune setup. I got my M7 on him playing it as sup with my Ahri Bot duo :D
Got +20 kills on a few games and got my M7 much faster than expected. I usually play him Mid or Jungle but he was so good at punishing bad plays that I could manage to easily get fed. His poke and lvl6 power spike are huge.

BUT, it was before his Ultimate damage got nerfed...

I generally enjoy playing Off-Meta on Bot/Sup roles when I'm playing with my Duo (I legitimately managed to get fed on Nocturne ADC crit build while playing with my Duo...)
I guess these stuff wouldn't work so well with random people tho...

almost hit lv 7 on my shurelias moonstone lillia XD, i do just enjoy it , agree overall still,

for ideas u could try
ICY FIDDLESTICKS: glacial on fiddle and imperial as mithic ( rush zhonias though if needed) to make supercheesy ice damagefields, careful ur ults weak then ofc unless u get the fear or use as followup sidedamage.
ICY NUNU: glacial makes nunu an alright engage support and quite fun with evenshroud
Vi schroud: evenschroud vi is a fun engage type
Zac: support with glacial or afterschock is so fun
Vex : not my style sadly but high dmg engage is fun with crown/ everfrost
nidalee with comet : pain on both sides
Taliyah : while hard is fun , now shes easier than ever before in support
Teemo: seems to rise due to q max 3 second blind
lastly while truly Bronze full ap NASUS support will make your day if you ludens delete someone with e

All of those are great suggestions!
Except I only have fiddle and vex xD
My blue essence reserves are so low, but I'll see if I can try that fiddle build. If I can get an adc that agrees on it.
And again, thanks for your suggestions, they may aid me in my quest for trying all champions as supports.

mb i always forget how hard it is to get champion, as someone from the early days i have had most champs by like season 7 XD
maybe if they rotate for free just try them in a blind game, there noone cares if you play an offmeta champ as most dont even know what most champs do XD.

Nunu is 450 BE u could try that and maybe overtime take more, many ap champs make ok supports bcs of items such as crown or everfrost ( literally gives u a free 1,5 s root ).

That's an interesting tier list, ngl. So far I only played Veigar supp and I was against Ivern and Malph - all 3 work to some extent...

Metallichydra (20) | December 8, 2021 9:20pm
They do work to some extent ... but they're rather ineffective and not very consistent. Sadly.

Malphite may actually be fit for support with the right runes, ones that give him enough mana to poke, but it is a long time since I last tried him, so I don't exactly remember how much mana he uses, and while his Ground Slam is really good against adc's, it requires him to be close to them ... Not an ideal situation for a non-mobile rock.

Ivern just isn't very well suited for laning.

TheImmortalEye (15) | October 28, 2021 5:21am
Really cheesy stuff for normals : Ivern does well with caitlyn so u cont have to take rengar, reason is caitlyns headshottimer is halved when in bushes so with a good cait every third autos a headshot instead of six, take spellbook summoner to get a smite lateron to help jungler and to get blue buff or red buff from your team or enemy. quite fun ;) found out while drunkplaing with duo

Thanks! I totally forgot about caitlyn and her passive!

lillis is played with support items for her moonstone or shurelias interactions, sure its not ranked worthy but u can make some incredible plays, her pre 6 is bad but poke on e and she can deter engage with the threat of her w damage. u could try it a bit its atleast a bit better than it seems at first....i did it for 60 k points was alot of fun XD. shes made for teamplay and once u get to mid and lategame shes a beast

Metallichydra (20) | October 18, 2021 6:30am
Yeah, she becomes really good later in the game. I can remember starting to completely destroy the enemy team once we got to lategame, even with a horrible laning phase. But the laning phase had been so incredibly bad that it didn't seem worthwhile.
But then again, I'm not a Lilia main, and honestly that kind of champion just isn't my style.

TheImmortalEye (15) | October 18, 2021 6:57am
understandable each has their own and i admit laning can vary between meh ( melee supports) to DEER GOD WHY DID I PICK THIS ( caitlyn , alistar, vel koz and other poke or point n click cc)

have you tried, orn , taliyah, neeko, lissandra , rek sai and zac or trundle are fun offmetas.

the only reason anivia isnt used much is just managating, she takes a bit to get going and other mages pack similar things on a better early budget like swain and lux, shes definetely good in good hands.

Metallichydra (20) | August 1, 2021 7:39am
Haven't tried any of them, but will definitively try some of the ones you mentioned there, once I have enough blue essence, or if they come on the free rotation.
I'm just really curious on how rek'sai support is supposed to work. My guess is using the tunnels as a roaming tool?

TheImmortalEye (15) | August 2, 2021 1:40am
principal is a " Kill lane" like lee sin, volibear,Pantheon and ekko support these are played for their almost unfair early game power which most adcs cant deal with. so it only works if u engage lv 3 kill enemy adc over and over again, get gold , get ahead and finish fast by roaming as a second jungler. otherwise she is the weaker offmeta since her cc and engage are lacking.
