"Never get Mejais as a staple item.
Lich Bane is a great choice. It gives you 80 AP, and makes your auto attacks do more damage.
Zhonya's is great with 100 AP, and a good amount of armor, combined with a great passive.
I like void staff, the passive is more useful then you think.

"An item that I didn't see mentioned here is ((Quicksilver Sash)). I feel that this is an underrated item. The cleanse like effect is great for trolling people who ignite/exhaust you, as well as WW ults and Malz ults. Situational, but still a worthy defensive item. (Cheap price too.)"
