"Ryze is a DPS caster. Theory is to burst him for more than he can deal, and leave before he can deal enough to make up the difference.
Annie with her stun up? Get him while you're outside his range, and use Q-W?
Galio? Slow him, use Gust, Shield yourself to absorb / reduce anything he throws.

"I've been hearing that Ryze > Morgana > Sion > Ryze
So with that in mind, Ryze would be countered (or at least have a disadvantage) when confronted with a Sion in lane."

They're wrong. Is this in preparation for the next set? Because it's really confusing. I thought Morde was free, and that I was missing it, but no, it's just wrong.
