It is commonly delegated to the support to purchase this item. However, unless you're packing MS quints, it's probably better to leave it to the jungler. Unless you have an AA reset. Then it's perfectly fine.

"Just gonna say, not all supports will get a Sightstone. Some prefer the safety of 5 wards over the mercy of 2 "free" ones. It's a preference based on how often the enemy jungler is ganking."
