"Masteries need to be fixed. You spec 12 in Defense when you need to spec either 9 (Veteran's Scars or 13 (for Block). You'll have to give up Pickpocket or Summoner's Wrath if you want to go 13 pts defense. Otherwise, I'd go 1/9/20."

"Team fight mages have a lot of AoE. BC has one AoE, unless you count Iceborn Gauntlet. He can only CC one enemy at a time (except a 0.5s silence...which is rather lacking).
If you want to build him tanky, go for items that give HP AND Mana. Nothing says "F U" like a tanky BC final"
