Is support nida viable? I recently tried it out, but I just cannot seem to find a correct way to do it. Build and skill-wise, I just cannot seem to do it. I love support, but support nidalee just doesn't roll with me. Any thoughts?

Build, kage's and Philo early. Build sorc or one of the tankier boots. Build a chalice into athenes, then rabadan's or some other ap item that may be more fitting. You may end up just building morellonomicon if you aren't doing that well because it's cheap, isn't the worst item ever, and builds from kage's.
Lay traps everywhere. Most games I have three in every bush in the bot lane at all times. Also make a line across river with your traps when you don't have wards. Don't worry about mana. Chalice+Philo will keep you at adequate mana. Other than that just throw spears whenever you see an opportunity, and of course heal your adc. But the single most important thing to learn about support nid is how to trap.
Nidalee can be one of the most annoying supports to face, simply because if you trap correctly the enemy support either has to sit in the open doing nothing, or he has to go aggressive, which is a bad idea against a nidalee.
There are certain times when you may max q before e. First off if you get a few early kills and build an ap item then going q can be more beneficial than your heal to winning the lane depending on how reliable you are with it. Second, if you are just straight up winning the lane then maxing q keeps the other team at low hp making it incredibly unlikely for them to be able to do anything, but hug the tower.
Your role as nidalee is not to be a heal bot. She is not soraka. I see a lot of support nidalee's thinking all they have to do is heal. The heal is strong but the traps are way more important. Lay a billion traps everywhere in the bushes, through river, in the enemy jungle, in the entrances to your jungle. If you aren't trapping then you aren't worth anything to your carry. If you just want to heal then play soraka.
A lot of people play her for her poke with spears, but do not rely on those. They are not a consistent source of damage bot lane. Use them whenever you see a possibility, but do not just expect their carry to walk around in the open and let you poke him to death. Once again, her traps are more important. If you trap everything from here to Timbuktu then eventually they will either have to get out of position to avoid a trap (opening them up to a free spear) or they will be forced to walk over one, usually letting you poke them with your aa pretty hard because of the increased damage on the traps.
I'm sure there are other ways to play support nidalee, but if there are any that work better I've never seen them.
Just remember: Traps, traps, traps. When in doubt just trap, if you're not sure what to do just walk around trapping random ****. I've saved my jungler from invades just by trapping everywhere, i've stopped the enemy from dragoning, and i've pulled off succesful invades just because i trapped their jungle.
