Hello,

Today, I'm gonna talk about Elo Hell, or the "supposed" one as there is none.

Actually, Elo Hell is nothing more than a mindset, an illusion we fool ourselves beliving so as to preserve our self esteem and keep on believing that we are "better" than the numbers says, projecting the failure onto other players.

I personally had this mindset since three months ago, where I fell from my ~1300 elo to the 800-900 Elo area, I was blinding myself into believing that I was always the "best" on my team, tough now that I look at the replays from that time, I'm horrified at how much errors my confidence caused me to do. Over extending, going head on in a whole team just to get a kill, bad warding, no map awareness, wrong runes and masteries, and most of all, I was blindly following guides from the " pros", without taking time to actually understand the logic behind every build.

Today, and after a month of harsh training with some premade players on normal where we were only playing for the fun and to increase our skills, accepting other people advices, I decided to go back and try to play some ranked. Two days were more than enough for me to get from 860 ELO to 980, winning 11 out of 15 games, and usually carrying extremely hard.

Naturally, carrying every game isn't possible, however, and while you might not be the one doing the carrying, there is a simple recipe of success to follow : you only need not to make any error so as to not make the game any harder, and to cheer up your mates if they feel down, don't look at others mistakes, only work on your own, and remember to never flame anyone.

Well, I'll be off now, time to hit the rift once again.

Good luck on your journeys friends! And remember to always have fun!
