I did get most of the cs in my lane, but it was hard, because I got zoned by 3 guys. Cassiopeia came from mid and Amumu from jungle. It was 3v1 most of the time while enemies bot lane dominated rest of the team.

I'm seriously getting frustrated about ELO hell at the moment. I had 8 winning streak with ELO at it's highest 1405. Now I have had so many loosing streaks while I have had neutral / positive...

SO basically there is no best champion for mid lane.
It's really just based on your own opinion.
Some may say Brand, some may say Zyra or Kassadin for example.

I failed 1 game with Amumu. I did decently, but the rest of my team... Gjeez.
Then I decided to play 1 game more and I lost, because of 2 guys afk and trollpicks. I was first one to pick and we ended up without a proper jungler and AD carry. >.<
