Shen is essentially a Tank with assassin properties.
He uses his Taunt to dash and catch you, and his Vorpal Blade + Passive damage is his burst.
Tanks are essentially beefy casters. Their kits are made to be used all at once.

Energy is suppose to be meant for assassin type champions. (Naturally that suits ninjas perfectly)
It's a resource designed for spammy characters who need to have their casting restricted. Otherwise, they'd be too powerful. Take a careful look at Lee Sin's kit, and you'll understand"

The health bars are hidden (along with the UI) to keep viewers focused on his skills, and not his stats.

The only things that showed animations outside of his auto-attacking was his Nimbus Strike and Cyclone.
Crushing Blow is a suped auto-attack, and Decoy is a basic clone. "
