Lane Shaco can roam for the first level if you get Deceive.
I once played with a Shaco who ganked mid at level1, and it basically let us faceroll the entire game because my mid-opponent didn't go back and let me zone him out the entire first few minutes."

All I can say right now is, practice practice practice.
If you want to be able to improve on your build, you definitely need to be confident enough in your TF gameplay to not need the comfortable survivability "
