Biography

My name is Nick. I have been a gamer since I was a child. My parents bought me a Nintendo Entertainment System when I was only 5. It came with Super Mario Brothers + Duck Hunt + World Class Track Meet on one cartridge. My parents also bought me the first Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles game released on the NES system. My video game collection grew slowly but surely. In the 90's my parents bought me the Super Nintendo Entertainment System the Christmas after it was released. I played every game imaginable on the SNES. My parents let me rent 2 games a week and I made sure I beat each one. If I did not beat it, I rented that one a second week. Then I was introduced to Mortal Kombat. This changed everything. At first my parents did not like the game so I could not play it at home. I went to the arcade a lot at our local mall and spent more money than I care to admit playing Mortal Kombat. After a while my parents became less offended by the violent games I was playing as I had never been involved in an act of violence and I was allowed to buy Mortal Kombat 2. I became very competitive with all the Mortal Kombat games. A few years went by and I had gotten more and more competitive with various video games and I was introduced to Diablo. I was immediately addicted to Diablo online. Then Diablo 2 came out. My descent into online gaming began. I started to learn every little thing I could about the online games I was playing. Trying to find the most efficient ways of playing and advancing as fast as possible. I remember leveling a sorceress in Diablo 2 to level 90 in less than a day. Granted I had some help from my clan it was still impressive to me.

Then, what I consider, the worst thing to happen to my social life happened. World of Warcraft launched. I was immediately guilded with what was for many years one of the most advanced guilds I had ever heard of. My primary role was a holy priest. We had many server first boss kills all the way from Molten Core to AQ40. My most memorable boss kill was Nefarian. We wiped over and over on him for an entire Sunday night with no luck. Monday we decided we would go in and wipe over and over again just for practice. We downed him on the first attempt that night. I remember vent being nothing but static like noise due to all the screaming. When we put his head in Orgrimmar it almost brought tears to my eyes. But back to the point. I let that game ruin my social life. I quit playing when Wrath of the Lich King was released and I refuse to go back.

Now, I play a handful of other games that do not consume my life. My favorite being League of Legends. I love this game. I love how competitive it is and I can play anywhere from one match to three or four matches a day and feel satisfied with it. I have been playing League of Legends for 2 years now and it just keeps getting better and better. I have decided to try my hand at writing some guides for the champions I play most for several reasons. One being I feel it will force me to learn even more about the numbers. The second being I enjoy helping other people learn to play. I am not greedy with my knowledge. I am by no means the greatest League of Legends player but I feel I can handle myself well enough.
