Views: 2407 Do Skins give players an edge?

First and Foremost I am a skin collector in the game... I love all the skins and I buy loads whenever possible so I thought I would discuss on the biggest questions in League of Legends - Do skins actually make your champion better?
Well firstly you have the rumored skins that apparently do give you an edge compared to the original champions skins like the extra distance in the reach of
iBlitzcrank
to the extra area of damage given by
Pool Party Ziggs
bombs and the videos and game play footage that has been shown on Youtube do indicate that these do give an physical edge to your champion and although they are only like a few millimeter difference this small amount could be the difference between a successful grab or missed attack.
But what about the other skins that do not have these apparent physical edges - Do they really help you in the game? Well its all depending on how you go about looking at it really, To some its a case of if there is no physically edge to your attacks then then it does not matter what the skin is because everything will be the same whilst to others by playing in a really good skin that makes your favorite champion look extra bad-*** can give their play style a mental boost that can be the difference between winning and losing.
Personally I do believe in the latter theory, yes the skins do not give you a physical edge but the mental edge can be just as effective when playing a game and its not just your mentality that is effected its everyone in the game - Take for example the ever beautiful Aether Wing Kayle
skin...Now when you have this you are mentally feeling good because you have this skin in your collection and the whole design and look of it makes playing Kayle just that little bit more fun but it doesn't stop there.
Your team mates will be gaining a bit of a mentality boost because you have this skin because to some having a legendary skin means that you must be quite good at this champion and those they can relax a bit more knowing that you have everything covered in your lane and then on the flip side you have your enemies mentality who may be effected by seeing this skin because they will be worrying that you could be a good player and this in turn can lead to a lapse in concentration in other lanes giving your team mates a small chance to take advantage of the situation.
But the funny part is you can actually manipulate the mentality of others by what skin you use...if you use a poor skin for example you can give your lane opponent(s) a false sense of security and this could lead to them taking more risks that you can take advantage of or even by using the good skin you can trick them into thinking you are better than you really are and if you play safe and don't die then they will keep panicking until they are forced to go for broke and at this stage you can take advantage of the situation.
Of course with some skins its merely all about the fun of them, the cool visuals, the awesome taunts and jokes, the hilariously funny recalls and of course the brilliant artwork that you get to enjoy before the game starts - All of this little details can make a huge difference to you and your game and with a little bit of effort they can actually take you further in the game than you could possibly imagine.

As for bad skins and good skins, I doubt that it will have any different impact. A skin is a skin and people will treat it as such, unless you use such a great awesome skin which the enemy always wanted and the enemy just keeps looking at the handsome face and great muscles of pink taric that he is just stunned throughout the whole game :O
